APP 2.0 FAQS
We want to create an evolution of the existing member app with a world-class experience that encourages engagement and exercise habit formation.
The new app builds on the practical use of the existing app, resolves technical limitations, and we hope it will play a larger role in your fitness journey.
It has replaced our existing app, so the new version will download automatically if you have auto updates allowed on your device. Otherwise, you can update manually via your App Store or Google Play, or download if you’re new to our app altogether.
You’ll need your membership ID (found in the orange bar in emails from us) and the password you use for the existing app or Les Mills website.
If you don’t remember your password, you can reset it here with your membership ID or email:
https://identity.lesmills.co.nz/Default/PasswordReset
It’s likely the email address you’re using doesn’t match our system. Please update your email either on the website member portal or with our staff at reception.
For Apple users: On the lock screen, swipe up from the middle of the screen. On other screens, swipe down from the top center. This will display historic notifications, unless you have cleared them already.
For Android users: Go to your Settings, 'Notifications' and then 'Advanced Settings'. Tap the on/off slider to enable notification history. Here you can see your historic notifications.
To view notification content as it comes through, ensure you've turned on 'Show Previews' in your phone settings.
If you’ve been a member with us for over 6 years and you’ve never used the existing app or member portal, you can register for a password with your member ID and email address here:

No – you can still do everything you did on the old app, plus more!
New features include setting attendance goals and tracking your progress towards them, waitlists for busy classes, browsing rich Group Fitness class information, adding your Les Mills ID to your wallet and accessing classes on Les Mills at Home. Plus, more to come.
To join a waitlist for a full class, you’ll need to have your app notifications allowed. Then simply join by clicking ‘join waitlist’ via the timetable.
The app will show your place in the queue and send you a notification when you’re booked for a spot that becomes available.
If you can’t make it, remember to cancel within the standard policy (1 hour notice).
Waitlists close 1.5 hours prior to class start time, to allow time to cancel if you need to.
Check that your app notifications are allowed, as you’ll need these on to join a waitlist.
It’s possible that the waitlist has closed – this happens 1.5 hours prior to class start time, to allow time to cancel if you can no longer make it.
Also remember that waitlists are only available for full, bookable classes.
There are two potential reasons for this:
1. You may have had an overlapping class booked, which excludes you from gaining a spot in the waitlisted class
2. If it’s now 1.5 hours within class start time, the waitlist will be closed and unfortunately, no space became available
No, the waitlist is an app-only feature.
To receive our notifications, you need to have permissions on both within the Les Mills app (via Profile) and in your phone settings. If you have one switched on but not the other, you may miss hearing from us – we don’t want that, so please check!
To make sure classes are removed from your calendar when you cancel them (and stop reminders), check that you’ve granted ‘full access’ to your calendar, not ‘add events only’ (specific to Apple users). To do this, deselect and then reselect 'Sync classes to my calendar' in the profile section of the Les Mills app.
Yes, you can view your club accesses in the Progress section. Remember they’ll only date back to your first app use, but they’ll build over time as long as you keep the app on your phone.
You can set an attendance goal (the number of times you’d like to work out per week) via your homepage or the Progress section. You can then track your attendance against this goal, earn streaks and watch your fitness soar.
In the Explore section.
Apple users can cast Les Mills at Home to your smart TV from your iOS device. Android and Apple users can also access Les Mills at Home via your smart TV by logging in to www.lesmills.co.nz using your TV’s browser.
The app asks for full calendar permission so that it can add and remove events. Allowing partial access would mean that the app could add booked and scheduled classes to your calendar, but not remove them if you cancelled. Partial access could also result in the same class being added more than once, as the app would not be able to check for existing instances. Les Mills does not view your calendar or personal event data.
To sync with Google Calendar, open the Google Calendar app, select ‘Menu’ then ‘ Settings’ then ‘Manage Accounts’ and toggle on ‘Les Mills NZ’.
Yes – this is just release one! A second set of exciting features is planned for later this year.
No, once you’ve updated you can’t go back. But trust us, you’ll be glad to make the change.
