PARKING

90 minutes free parking is available to Les Mills Dunedin members at Meridian Mall via 2 methods: 

- The ParkMate app and License Plate Recognition (LPR) 

- Validating your parking in the gym reception area 




HOW TO SET UP THE PARKMATE APP: 

Step 1: 

Download ParkMate from the App store/Google Play. Make sure you sign up with the same email address that you use to sign into your Les Mills account. 

Step 2: 

Go to the menu and add your payment details (‘My wallet’) and licence plate (‘My vehicles’).   

Step 3: 

Still in ‘My vehicles’, turn on the toggle for ‘Licence Plate Recognition’. 

Note:  ‘Licence Plate Recognition’ is not available if you share the same vehicle licence plate with another ParkMate user. 

HOW TO GET 90 MINUTES FREE PARKING WITH LICENCE PLATE RECOGNITION (LPR) VIA THE PARKMATE APP: 

Set up the app as above, then: 

Step 1: 

Drive into the car park and the camera will start your session automatically once the barrier arm is lifted. 

Step 2: 

Swipe your Les Mills membership card at Les Mills reception to automatically apply the promo code for 90 minutes free to your existing parking session. 

You’ll be sent a notification from the app once the promo code has been applied. 

Step 3: 

Drive out of the car park and the camera will stop your session automatically once the barrier arm is lifted. 

Note: If you park for longer than 90 minutes, you will be charged for additional time via the ParkMate app at the applicable rates and transaction fees. 

HOW TO GET 90 MINUTES FREE PARKING BY VALIDATING IN THE GYM RECEPTION AREA: 

Step 1:

Drive into the car park and the camera will start your session automatically once the barrier arm is lifted. 

Step 2: 

Upon entering or exiting the gym reception area, enter your membership and vehicle details into the validation portal located in reception.

Step 3: 

Drive out of the car park and the camera will stop your session automatically once the barrier arm is lifted. 

Note: If you park for longer than 90 minutes, you will need to pay for your additional time via the Mall parking payment machines, or via credit/debit card at the exit barrier arm.

What’s the new app?

The app is ParkMate, which you might know from other car parks around Dunedin, run by Wilson Parking. Like the current app, it will operate on smartphones with no tickets required.

When is the new system coming into effect?

The new system will be in place as soon as Les Mills Dunedin opens in Meridian Mall on Tuesday 31 October.

How do I set up the ParkMate app?

How can I access the gym outside of Meridian Mall hours ?

To access the gym outside of Meridian Mall hours please enter via Hanover Street entrance or via the carpark lift if you've parked your car. 

What if I don’t have a smartphone?

If you don’t have a smartphone, then you can validate your parking session at Reception where our team will help you. *Please note that if you’re after additional parking, you can only do that through the Meridian Mall pay machines. Extra time cannot be added at reception.  

Do I need to enter a payment method (credit/debit card) into my ParkMate app?

Yes. This is required to allow the sessions to stop and start, even for free sessions. 

ParkMate keep my payment details safe?

The ParkMate app uses a third-party gateway environment for payment, with security controls that are PCI DSS Level 1 compliant, the industry’s highest level of certification. The security controls are reviewed annually via an intensive assessment that ensures the compliance levels are maintained.  

How long am I able to park for?

As a Les Mills member, you’ll get 90 minutes of free parking when you validate your session by scanning into the club. Any additional parking will be charged as per Meridian Mall’s parking rates which can be located here, on entry to the carpark or, by any of the pay machines throughout the Mall. 

How do I validate my free parking?

Please see the how-to video here. *Please make sure that the e-mail address in your ParkMate app is the same email we have for you here at Les Mills, so we can validate your free time.  

How do I end my parking session?

Easy, License Plate Recognition means you just drive out of the Meridian Mall Car Park and your parking session will automatically stop.  Look out for the stop notification and receipt email. 

Will I get a reminder when my parking is coming to an end?

Yes, you’ll get a notification 15 minutes before your free session is coming to an end – please make sure that you have notifications from ParkMate switched on. We also recommend checking the ParkMate app is enabled in your mobile device notifications settings.

What if I want more than 90 minutes of parking?

If 90 minutes isn’t enough, additional parking will be charged at $5 per hour or part thereof. If you are using the ParkMate app, there will be a $0.50 transaction fee with any paid session (you will not be charged this fee if you stay under 90 minutes for your session). 

Can I pre-book a carpark?

No, you can’t pre-book a car park. 

Do I have to pay the ParkMate transaction fee every time I park?

This $0.50 fee applies only to paid parking sessions. If you end your session within the free 90-minute timeframe, no transaction fee will be charged. 

What if I have more than one car?

That’s no problem. You can add multiple vehicles to ParkMate by clicking on the menu icon in the app, clicking on 'My vehicles’, and selecting ‘Add license plate’.  

What if I share a car with someone?

At this stage, License Plate Recognition can only be allocated to one ParkMate account, which means two people can’t 'share’ a licence plate across ParkMate accounts. You will not be able to validate your parking using ParkMate. You will need to validate your parking in our reception area. 

What if I don’t use Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) via the ParkMate app?

Then you will need to validate your parking in our reception area.

What should I do if the ParkMate app isn’t working properly?

If the app isn’t working, please let our Reception team know in the first instance. Then contact ParkMate at [email protected]. 

In the event of a problem at the car park, who do I contact?

Please call Meridian Mall directly on 03 777 3440. 

Are there pay machines?

Yes, if you’re not using the ParkMate app you can use the parking pay machines located in the Meridian Mall. The locations of carpark pay stations are as follows; 
C1 Entrance (Level 1 of the Meridian Mall side of the carpark)  
C2 Entrance  (Level 2 of the Meridian Mall side of the carpark)  
Exit Lobby (Ground floor of the Golden Centre side of the carpark) 

Payment can also be made at the exit barrier arms using Paywave.

*Please note you are not able to validate your free parking this way. 

What happens if I don’t use the ParkMate app and don’t pay using the pay machines?

Then you will not be able to exit the carpark.
