Time is valuable — especially when you’re juggling work, life, and training. Getting results isn’t always about spending more time in the gym, but using your time well. Whatever your goal, there can be ways to train more efficiently. Here are a few simple strategies to help you get the most from each session:

Walk in with a plan
Having a structured training programme takes the guesswork out of your session. No wandering around deciding what to do — you know what you’re there for, and you get it done.

Be strategic with your exercise selection
Pair upper and lower body movements or alternate push/pull exercises. This lets one muscle group recover while you work another. Using the same equipment across exercises also means less waiting, more working.

Prioritise compound lifts
Make sure your programme includes big, multi-joint movements like squats, deadlifts, presses, chin-ups, and rows. These hit multiple muscle groups and give you the best bang for your buck, especially when time is limited.

Have a backup plan
Peak times = busy gym. If someone’s camping on the machine you need, don’t stress — just switch the order of your workout or have a few alternative exercises ready to go.
