There’s a smorgasbord of fitness ideas out there to help get you on the move. So, there’s no excuse to be in a “fitness rut”. Keep trying different fitness ideas until you find something that resonates with you. It’s also great for your muscles to move in varied ways. Here are 14 ways you can get moving today…

  • Try "Doga" for a laugh. That's yoga with your dog by the way, which is the funniest sight on social media. Check out people lifting tiny dogs up into the air (using them as weights!) But it's also a great way to sneak in cuddles with your precious pooch. This wouldn't work with a larger dog, of course. And please ask permission if you borrow a friend's pet for such a thing!
  • Dance in the dark at home. Put some sounds on in the kitchen or lounge and let your hair down. You'll shake off stress and smile. Come on, everyone should be goofy sometimes.
  • Try a Les Mills BODYBALANCE class. You'll stretch out your body and feel graceful.
  • Unleash energy in a BODYCOMBAT class. You'll leave feeling empowered.
  • Improve your co-ordination and focus in a BODYSTEP class. Or am I the only one who is "unco"? Chuckle.
  • Cycle without worrying about traffic or bad weather. The Les Mills RPMclasses are world class. They also kick your butt.
  • Visit America on a bike and take in the sights. The Les Mills virtual TRIP cycle classes at Newmarket are out-of-this-world. These virtual rides include visiting other planets and countries.
  • On holiday and away from the gym? No problem. Do a few rounds of push-ups, burpees, and crunches at home. Or find a park bench and do triceps dips, push-ups and lunges.
  • Exercise from home with workouts at the touch of a button. Les Mills virtual workouts are audio-visual versions of the classes you know and love.
  • Start running to mix things up. All you need is a pair of run shoes and lifestyle apparel and you can pound the pavements any time.
  • Do yoga stretches at home to feel zen. Repeat some of the ones you love doing that you've learned from your favourite BODYBALANCE class.
  • Cycle into work. So many workplaces now offer bike facilities and showers.
  • Try SH'BAM if you want to lift your dance grooves and tap into more of that mind-body connection stuff.
  • Swim in the ocean or at a community pool. If you're opting for the ocean then chuck on a wetsuit and go even in Winter! It will be a rush.
