Kids World

We set up Kids World in one of our group fitness studios with a variety of domain specific areas and activities for the children to enjoy in a spacious bright environment. While you are working out you can be assured that your child will be having fun and is supported by professional teachers in their development and learning.

Our centre values are:

  • Manākitanga – caring sharing and kindness
  • Arahina – confidence self-reliance self-assurance
  • Pātaitai – questioning curiosity risk-taking
  • Rangimarie – peacefulness and overall wellbeing

Kids World teachers value a nurturing, responsive and inclusive learning environment for all children.

Kids World teachers believe that through developing strong reciprocal relationships with children and their whanau, children will become confident to participate and learn in our setting as they feel a sense of taha waiora – spiritual health and wellbeing.

Our learning philosophy encourages children to be curious and independent.  To observe and participate at their own pace with support and guidance from teachers and their parents and whanau.  We value the importance of child initiated, play based experiences – play is children’s work!

Our teaching philosophy aims to encourage children to develop at their own pace without restrictions, to be curious, be physically expressive and take risks in a relaxed environment and to develop respectful relationships with both teachers and their peers.

As part of our teaching philosophy, we value ongoing communication between teachers, parents and whānau. We believe that the sharing of a child’s interests, skills and cultural background is fundamental to achieving the best learning outcomes for children.

We believe that when a child is relaxed they are ready to learn.  We aim to do this by knowing our children and their parents and being able to respond to each child’s needs and cues.

As an early childhood service, we strive to acknowledge the dual heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand and aim to respect Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Our centre values are manākitanga – caring sharing and kindness, arahina – confidence self-reliance self-assurance, pātaitai – questioning curiosity risk-taking, Rangimarie – peacefulness and overall wellbeing.

Aspirations for Kids World Kids

We know that each child arrives to Kids World with their own understanding of the world from their culture and beliefs, and we work with parents by seeking information through aspiration forms, conversations, and settling visits to learn about and respect each child's uniqueness.

Whānau provide us with the strength to be who we are and we strive to replicate this at Kids World.  We recognise taha whanau - family health by supporting parents and caregivers when and where needed.

We also promote kai hauora - healthy eating choices and good hygiene practices.

By knowing our children and their parents we are able to respond to each child's needs and cues.
