Kids World

We set up Kids World in one of our group fitness studios with a variety of domain specific areas and activities for the children to enjoy in a spacious bright environment.  Our vision is to provide an environment that children feel happy to be in and gain a sense of empowerment to explore and experience their world.  Our core values and guiding principles are:

  • Centred around the child
  • Inclusive
  • Equal opportunities
  • Qualified staff
  • Reciprocal relationships between children, parents and teachers
  • To improve the lives of New Zealanders

Our Philosophy

At Kids World the Māori health model of te whare tapa whā is essentially the foundation of everything we do.  The four components of this model are; taha tinana - physical health, taha wairua - spiritual health, taha whānau - family health, taha hinengaro - mental health.

We respond to taha tinana - physical health, through creating an environment that is familiar and challenging to each child's zone of proximal development.

We respond to taha wairua - spiritual health by supporting children to express their personalities/characters and interests, and encouraging children to participate in our environment.

We respond to taha whānau - family health by recognising it as an important component for children feeling happy and safe.

We respond to taha hinengaro - mental health through providing a stress free relaxing and calming environment.

Aspirations for Kids World Kids

We know that each child arrives to Kids World with their own understanding of the world from their culture and beliefs, and we work with parents by seeking information through aspiration forms, conversations, and settling visits to learn about and respect each child's uniqueness.

Whānau provide us with the strength to be who we are and we strive to replicate this at Kids World.  We recognise taha whanau - family health by supporting parents and caregivers when and where needed.

We also promote kai hauora - healthy eating choices and good hygiene practices.

By knowing our children and their parents we are able to respond to each child's needs and cues.

If you are unable to attend a booked session, you must notify Kids World staff.
