Our Philosophy
Kidsworld strives to be a centre where children and parents feel comfortable and confident being a part of our environment.
Children will experience a sense of belonging and well-being, be identified as individuals and given equal opportunities. The centre programme will give children a balance of education and care in a fun and relaxed environment. Children will be supported in making their own decisions, encouraged to problem solve and participate in new experiences.
Kidsworld recognises the importance and supports the integration of Te Reo Maori into our everyday programme. Kidsworld also recognises the importance of acknowledging Tikanga Maori in our everyday programme.
Kidsworld recognises and supports the ongoing process of learning and development of their teachers.
Kidsworld values the importance of open communication between staff and parents as well as among the Kidsworld team.

Skills and Attributes
At Kidsworld Dunedin children are given opportunities to:
- Learn with and alongside others.
- Develop a sense of belonging through reciprocal relationships.
- Learn with and alongside their peers.
- Further develop their skills and interests.
- Be involved in learning programmes and activities.
- Learn to problem solve and assert themselves in an appropriate manner and with guidance.
- Develop language and listening skills.
- Be free to express themselves while their attributes are nurtured.
Booking In
All children that attend Kidsworld must be enrolled and booked into permanent sessions. In order to maintain those sessions children must attend regularly and adhere to the Ministry 3 week absence rule.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be notified by phone or email at least the morning of the day of the session.
Age Range
We are licensed to take infants from 5 weeks old (6 weeks is recommended) and children up to 5 years old. We have a quiet area for infants and a closed off sleeping area for babies and a fully equipped bathroom for changing and toileting.
Staff/Children Ratio
Kidsworld has a 1:5 ratio for children under 2 years of age and a ratio of 1:8 for children 2 and over.
